In June 2026, Transform Northwest partnered with the Police Activities League and Renaissance Ice Cream for Cops and Cones—an afternoon created to help local families and law enforcement connect in a welcoming, community-centered setting.
A Welcoming Place to Connect
Children met police officers and motor patrol units outside the pressure of an emergency or traffic stop. They asked questions, explored equipment, and discovered the people behind the uniforms. Transform Northwest helped make the afternoon even sweeter by providing children with coupons for free ice cream.
It was a simple gesture, but simple acts of generosity often create the space where meaningful relationships begin. Smiles spread, conversations came easily, and families were able to spend time with officers in an atmosphere shaped by encouragement, safety, and fun.
Building Trust
The officers did an outstanding job engaging children, greeting parents, and mingling with residents throughout the event. Their willingness to slow down, listen, laugh, and answer questions helped turn an ordinary summer afternoon into a positive memory for local families.
Trust is rarely built through one large moment. More often, it grows through many small interactions—a conversation, a shared laugh, a child seeing an officer as someone safe and approachable. Cops and Cones made room for those moments to happen naturally.
Community transformation begins when people move toward one another with generosity, humility, and hope.

The Police Activities League brought its trusted presence and commitment to young people. Local officers gave their time and attention. Renaissance Ice Cream provided a joyful gathering place. Transform Northwest helped connect the pieces and extend a practical welcome to families.
No single organization had to carry the whole event. Each partner brought something valuable, and together they created an experience none of us could have created alone.

As our most recent outreach event, Cops and Cones represents more than one successful afternoon. It marks the beginning of a renewed season for Transform Northwest—one focused on showing up, listening well, strengthening local partnerships, and serving Clark County in practical ways.
Our mission remains the same: partnering with churches and organizations to advance the good news of Jesus. Events like this help us build the relationships and trust that make deeper connection possible. By serving with consistency and genuine care, we create openings for people who are searching for hope, Christian community, and a place to belong.
