A LIFE TRANSFORMED
From Resistance to Faith
For most of his life, Mark had been resistant to Christianity and to Christians.
He knew believers seemed to have a completely different perspective on life, but he could never understand why they were so consistently optimistic, hopeful, and committed to what he called “God stuff.”
At the same time, Mark couldn’t ignore the fact that there was something genuinely different about Christians. Their joy, peace, and purpose stood out to him. Out of curiosity, he accepted an invitation to attend a special event called CONVERGE, organized by Transform Northwest.
During the worship service, Mark was struck by the excitement and genuine engagement of the people around him. They weren’t simply going through the motions—they were worshiping with sincerity, joy, and hope.
Then he listened to the message. As he heard the positive, life-giving truth being shared, something began to change deep within his thinking.
“Maybe this faith in Jesus isn’t what I always thought it was.”
For the first time, Mark allowed himself to consider that following Jesus might actually be a better way to live.

That evening, he made the decision that would forever change his life. He prayed, asking God to forgive his sins and to take control of his life—and everything changed.
Today, Mark openly shares his story with others. He admits that because his mind had been closed for so many years, he never even allowed himself to consider that becoming a Christian could lead to a better life.
Now, instead of skepticism, he has found peace. Instead of emptiness, he has discovered purpose. Jesus has helped him leave behind unhealthy habits that once had a hold on him and has given him a new direction.
Mark found a wonderful church family where he continues to grow in his understanding of the truths he once doubted. His faith grows stronger every day as he experiences God’s work in his life.
God used CONVERGE to change Mark’s mind—and to transform his life.
